Debbie Williams, co-founder of John Williams Heating Services
Debbie Williams supported her husband John when he decided to set up John Williams Heating Services Ltd almost 15 years ago.
Already a successful business woman, Debbie had run her own beauty salon from her home for several years but was happy to take on the administrative side of her husband’s new enterprise.
Being experienced in business, she anticipated organic growth and felt she could offer her skills in customer service to support that growth. Excellent customer service was key to her beauty business and she felt this was key to the success of John Williams Heating Services.
She knew this was an area of weakness in the sector of heating and plumbing at the time. Her belief proved to be true. The work came in thick and fast and in just over a year, another engineer joined the family business.
Debbie found her customer service skills were called upon more and more frequently to answer the phone, manage the diary and ensure customers in Wiltshire were given a first-class service. As the business grew and grew she finally made the decision to sell her own business and devote herself full-time to John Williams Heating Services.
Like John, Debbie believed – and still believes – excellent customer service is the key to their sustainable and continued success. Debbie has driven the company ethos of excellent service including being prompt, polite, clean, tidy and making customers feel valued for their decision to work with the company.
She is also a passionate advocate of apprenticeships and she believes strongly that employers and educators need to embrace and value apprenticeships far more. In the past she’s been an apprenticeship ambassador for the Government and she’s currently the President of the Chippenham Chamber of Commerce and is widely respected as an advocate of businesses in the town.
Originally from Birmingham, Debbie moved to Wiltshire and met John, aged just 15. They have two daughters Georgina and Katie and one grand-daughter Millie.
In tune with her previous beauty business, Debbie enjoys yoga, annually taking a break at yoga retreats overseas. Like her husband John, she enjoys rugby and is a season ticket holder at Bath Rugby Club. Both Debbie and John are animal lovers and are custodians of company guard dogs border terriers Dave and Frank – important members of the team!
